Our first family vacation!

This summer we decided to take a baseball road trip along the west coast. We left for vacation on Friday, June 13th and returned home on Friday, June 27th. Some of our stops included the San Francisco Giants baseball game, a tour of Alcatraz, the Redwoods National Park in Northern California, Bandon (Oregon), Olympia Washington, Seattle Mariners baseball game, Mt. Ranier National Park, and the Oakland Athletics baseball game. We had a great time seeing our beautiful country and visiting with family. Charlie behaved execptionally well and even got a new tooth during our trip!

Believe it or not, it was 49 degrees here! It was such a harsh contrast to the 100 degree June summer weather that we have in Southern California!

Here we are outside the famous Pike Place Market in Seattle. We were in the city only one day, and can't wait until the next time we get to visit!

Mt. Ranier was amazing! Usually during the summer the wildflowers are the main attraction to the mountain. Since Washington has experienced a mild summer, the snow has not melted. We happily accepted the snowy landscape and marked off our checklist of the things that we do not see in Southern California - summer snow!
