Potty Time
Yes, that's right! Charlie is just getting started using the potty. A couple of weeks ago he asked Linda, his daycare lady, to use the potty because Makayla uses it. He just dribbled out a little and told her ecstatically, "I did it!" Since he has been showing interest, and waking up with a dry diaper I thought that I would try it out with him. I have learned from my friends with older boys that you should not push the potty issue too much until they are completely ready. When he wakes up, I ask him if he has to go potty, and he usually says yes. I bought a potty seat that goes over the regular toilet - because the thought of cleaning out a potty chair disgusts me! He has been peeing in the toilet now and then for the last few weeks. He even tells me when he has to go - sometimes after it has happened, but I still put him on the potty to get used to the idea. When he can't go anymore he says "It's broken" and I can't help but smile. I've also bought him some underwear that is just too cute. He wore them the other night before bedtime and ran around the house doing flips and going crazy - like he had special powers! I hope that this is an easy transition especially since I am at work most of the day. He's getting so big!

I bought a potty seat and yes it is so disgusting to have to clean! So, to solve that, I grabbed a bunch of plastic bags from the grocery store for the fruits and veggies and I now use those over the potty part! It's so nice and easy now! We started Link a bit young, but she wants to do it and does do it. Not everytime, but we are working on it. It must be a girl thing. Good luck with the potty training. It sounds like Charlie will be doing it in no time!
