Spring Training

This last weekend we went to visit Nana and Papa in Arizona to see an Angels spring training game. We left around 3:00 on Friday afternoon and arrived in Mesa around 9:30. Charlie did ok in the car, but completely missed his naps the whole weekend, which made him cranky most of the time while we were there. I swelled up like a balloon from sitting in the car for so long. My feet looked like I was baking bread in my shoes!

Saturday was the game and the weather was hot and sunny - perfect! Our seats were great - right behind home plate and in the shade! Charlie, however, did not want to be at a baseball game. He didn't care that we had good seats, or that the Angels were playing. All he wanted to do was go on the field with the players. Since I can't really handle him in public places right now, Daniel held him all of the time. Eventually Daniel, Charlie and I went outside of the stadium and played in the grass there. After this trip Daniel and I made a new rule: No kids at baseball games between the ages of 6 months and 5 years! It looks like we will be watching a lot of FSN West in the near future!

The trip overall was ok. I was glad to see Nana and Papa, and for them to see Charlie again. I also was very excited to go to Sonic and get a cherry limeade, since at home we constantly get the Sonic commercials - but we don't have a sonic anywhere close! Next time I know better: No traveling 3 weeks before your due date!

The view from our seats

Charlie sat here for about 2 minutes!

Where we spent most of our time...outside the stadium.
