with silver belles, and cockle-shells, and pretty maids all in a row!
As noted in my previous post, I have started growing a vegetable garden in my backyard. I'm not sure if it's the right season to grow them, but I'll see what I get any way :) I am starting this garden because:
1. I want my family to be able to eat fresh veggies
2. I like having a hobby
3. to see if I can actually do it!
I am growing pumpkins, butternut squash, zucchini, carrots, lettuce, eggplant, green beans, and tomatoes. I started them all from seeds and within the last few weeks they have grown pretty big! Even if I only get one vegetable, this is such a great learning experience that will help me in the future. It is pretty humbling to realize that my ancestors got their food this way. There is so much preparation and care that goes into producing your own food that it makes me proud to think that I am actually attempting this!
